Whittlesea and Nillumbik
Our preschool is nestled in the serene Nillumbik Shire, providing a nurturing environment for children from both the Whittlesea and Nillumbik Shires. We take pride in our inclusive community where all families are warmly welcomed to join us in creating a vibrant learning space for their children.
Class Sizes
At our preschool, we are committed to maintaining small class sizes to ensure each child receives the attention and care they deserve. Each kinder group is capped at either 22 or 26, with the higher capacity for students supported by an additional staff member, ensuring the same level of individual attention and care.
3 Year Old Kinder Hours
In 2027, all children enrolled in our 3-year-old group will participate in 15 hours of educational programming per week, unless they are enrolled in the extended care program, which provides access to an additional program with extra hours. Our program is designed to support the developmental needs of young children, fostering social, emotional, and cognitive growth through a range of play-based learning experiences.
4 Year Old Kinder Hours
For our 4-year-old groups, we are excited to still offer 15 hours of preschool education each week in 2027. This program aims to prepare children for their transition to primary school, focusing on enhancing their literacy, numeracy, and social skills through engaging and age-appropriate activities.

Note: In 2026, the Possum and Kookaburra groups, who attend on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, may be offered an optional paid extended day care program until 4:30pm, if enough families express the need for it. This extended care option provides additional support for families needing longer care hours and ensures that children continue to engage in a safe and enriching environment.

Enrolment Details
All enrolments are processed through a central enrolment scheme by Nillumbik Shire Council.
Enrolment forms can be obtained from Nillumbik Shire Council or via their website which is: www.nillumbik.vic.gov.au or from the preschool.
Enrolments open in the March, two years before you child is eligible to attend Kinder. For the 2027 intake, first-round preferences close on 30 June this year.
